Little Guy walked up to the shop and sniffed. The doors were closed but something just wasn't right. He thought maybe that was smoke coming from under the door. He went running to the house. Everyone was inside eating supper. Gran called him but he wouldn't go inside. Mama came out and Little Guy went into the kitchen. He didn't like it though. He slicked his ears back and paced. Finally, Gran went out to feed the geese. Little Guy went running to the shop. It didn't smell good at all but Gran wouldn't listen. He heard Mama come out side. He went running up to her. Granddaddy got up early today. That meant Little Guy and Sunshine had to get up early too. Little Guy didn't mind. He figured he could always take a nap later. Sunshine was not amused. She prefers to snuggle under the covers until much later. But she got up. She didn't want Little Guy to eat her breakfast. Before long all three were headed over to the dam. Granddaddy wanted to haul several loads of brush to the burn pile. He and Mama had been working to clear the trees and shrubs on either side of the dam. Well, Granddaddy had been doing a lot of the work. He can use a chain saw. Mama uses the clippers and drags limbs around. Little Guy and Sunshine clear the area of varmints. That's very important to Mama. They worked and worked and then they looked up and Mama had joined them. Little Guy and Sunshine ran over for kisses and hugs.
